Creating and Facilitating a Mothers Group
Creating and Facilitating a Mothers Group
Learn how to plan, launch, and facilitate a welcoming mothers group rooted in peer connection, practical support, and clear doula scope.
This course walks doulas through the real decisions behind a sustainable group: who the group is for, how it will meet, what agreements will protect the space, how referrals will be handled, and how to guide discussion without taking over the room.
In this course, you will build:
- A clear purpose and public description for your group.
- A practical format, schedule, location or online plan, and accessibility map.
- Group agreements, confidentiality language, and referral pathways.
- Facilitation language for silence, advice-giving, dominant voices, conflict, and emotional moments.
- Meeting plans that support a wide range of birth and postpartum experiences.
- A launch portfolio with your first three meeting plans and a 90-day launch calendar.
This course is designed for birth doulas, postpartum doulas, childbirth educators, and community-based facilitators who want to create a thoughtful, useful group for mothers and families in their community.
