How the Credential Works: LTDV grants the Learn To Doula Village Certified Doula credential. LTDV does not grant Arkansas Certified Community-Based Doula (CCBD) certification/license. In Arkansas, CCBD status is issued through the Arkansas Department of Health process and is regulated by ADH. DA-AR certification or certification from another ADH-designated training organization may serve as a state-recognized pathway when accepted by ADH.
Certification through Learn To Doula Village / Community-Based Doula Studies is based on completion of required coursework, professional readiness, and agreement to follow Learn To Doula Village standards, ethics, and scope-of-practice expectations.
General certification requirements may include:
- Active Learn To Doula Village membership or orientation, if required for the selected training path.
- Agreement to follow the Learn To Doula Village Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
- Current bloodborne pathogens training appropriate for doulas or birth professionals.
- Current cultural humility, cultural competency, or related equity training.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification from an accepted provider.
- Required reading listed on the individual course pages.
- Completion of assignments, evaluations, documentation practice, and any required student submissions.
- Any additional requirements listed for the individual course or credential pathway.
Learn To Doula Village trains doulas and prepares students for professional community-based practice and for pursuing applicable Arkansas certification requirements.
Completing a Learn To Doula Village course, receiving a course completion certificate, completing a Learn To Doula Village certification pathway, or earning the Learn To Doula Village Certified Doula (CD) credential does not automatically result in Arkansas Department of Health Certified Community-Based Doula (CCBD) certification/license, similar credentials issued by any other state, Medicaid provider enrollment, insurance reimbursement, employment eligibility, facility approval, professional licensure, or credentials issued by another organization. Requirements vary by state and jurisdiction.
The Learn To Doula Village Certified Doula (CD) credential is a professional credential issued by Learn To Doula Village. It is designed to document completion of LTDV training and certification requirements. It is not the same as Arkansas Department of Health CCBD certification/licensure. It is separate from Arkansas Department of Health Certified Community-Based Doula (CCBD) certification, Doula Alliance of Arkansas certification, similar credentials issued by any other state, Medicaid provider enrollment, insurance credentialing, facility approval, employment qualifications, professional licensure, and credentials issued by another organization.
Learn To Doula Village may revise certification requirements as needed to reflect current professional standards, curriculum updates, state requirements, payer expectations, and community needs.
